3rd Grade Orientation, HBD Dad, Normal Colquett Activities

Yesterday was 3rd grade orientation.  Not only am I an emotional wreck from Karter starting Kindergarten, but somehow I also have a 3rd grader and soon to be preschooler.

On mine and Tyler's time hop this week, these pictures came up.....

So we all decided to go again :).... Kind of make it a "back to school lunch tradition".  So here we are 3 years later...... I'm not working so the other two aren't at daycare and I'm not on a "lunch break".... so we were all able to celebrate Heidi and Karter's starting of the school year.

Kyle went fishing yesterday, but thankfully made it back in time to go with us to orientation :)!  He thought it was last night.  When he realized it was yesterday afternoon he was frantically trying to make it home in time.  Thankfully he did and he and Heidi both were happy :).

Heidi has Mrs. Rogers this year.  We are so very excited about starting this 3rd grade journey with her.

Sweet cousins.... right across the hall from each other.

Now that it is fast approaching, Heidi is excited about starting.  I, on the other hand, am not.  New bed times being enforced, waking up early, homework for two kids, back to a not so "free" routine that we have in the summer... all the fun that comes with a school year.

I did forget to show y'all this cute video of Karter the other night after his orientation.  He loves to "play the drums" to Phil Collins, "In the Air Tonight"......

Okay, now on to my sweet Daddy.  His 51st birthday was Wednesday.  The kids could not believe he is "FIFTY-ONE".  haha!  Which when I was their age, even 30 was really old.  Dad told them that he was older than my age+ all of theirs put together.  They were amazed.  Each of the kids drew, colored, wrote, did whatever they wanted to on some construction paper and then each mailed him their cards :)!!  He loved getting them just as much as the kids enjoyed writing them.

This was a picture of us 2 years ago on his birthday....
Now, most of you know we are outside people.  I am sure our neighbors get tired of hearing us all day every day, even on past dark.  Almost every night we play hiding go seek outside, freeze tag, and do a lot of bike riding.  This picture was late the other night....
My friend, Julie, knew I hadn't been able to find my name on any of the cokes.  Nor is it online with their list of names.  BUT she did find this the other day...... as close as it gets :).....
Ole Sophie Girl..... she dresses herself every day.  She refuses to wear what I pick out (most days), she changes clothes anywhere from 5-10 times a day, she is 150% her own self and proud of it!  Her outfit of choice the other day was...........
So if you ever see us around and wonder what in the world I am thinking letting her be dressed like "that", just know that some battles are worth fighting for and some..... well, just aren't.

Here are a couple videos of her doing what she loves to do, sing.

And last but not least, had to share a couple pictures I got of the two best friends yesterday morning.  They were trying to make sand castles and were both getting frustrated because the sand would just fall flat when they pour it out.
.... and yes Sophie is in fleece pjs..... because that's what she wanted to wear ;-)!
