Freeport Family Getaway

This past weekend the family packed up and traveled to Freeport to stay for a few days.  My Aunt Mandy's parents were generous enough to let us stay at their place and have a much needed, relaxing getaway.

We arrived Thursday evening and while we were unpacking Heidi took some pretty great pictures of them out on the pier.

Hank loved showing them everything.

They were checking the crab basket.

Beautiful sun setting that she captured.
The next morning after a delicious breakfast, the kids could hardly wait to get in the water.

1 of the crabs they caught.... you'll later see this in the shrimp boil picture.

She made a new best friend with Aunt Mandy.  I think Aunt Mandy enjoyed Sophie as much as Sophie enjoyed her.

Aunt Donna giving S & K a push on the hammock :)!
One thing is for sure....... we ate GOOD while we were there.
Thursday night we had sandwiches since we got there later and still had to unpack and go to the store.  Friday night we had grilled porkchops, potatoes with peppers, onions, & mushrooms, grilled cabbage, white peas, rolls, & fresh tomatoes.

After supper we just sat on the swing and enjoyed the peacefulness of everything.

Kyle's favorite spot the entire time :)!

Saturday was absolutely beautiful.  The rain chances were higher than Friday, but it never rained a drop.  We got in the water at 10 A.M. and besides getting out for a quick lunch, we didn't get out until 4 P.M.
We took a couple family bike rides even :)....

That would be the big crab that was in the basket earlier staring at you.
We had an early supper, so afterwards we decided why not ride to the beach?  Only about a 15 minute ride.  The weather and water were pure perfection.  Absolutely gorgeous.  We all took chairs and just "sat there" while the kids (& KyKy hehe) swam.

1 of her many poses....

His smiles are so contagious.

The best Uncle ever.  He loves to play and interact with them.

Can't you see relaxed wrote all over their faces?  Well except for Aunt Mandy was on her Ps and Qs about them not getting too far out.  She is showing a look of concentration :).

Kyle and MeMe

..... and then thanks to MeMe's suggestion we had family photos :).....

A little racing action :)

Sophie looked at Uncle Bruce & said, "You wanna race?".... he said "Nah I don't think so".... to which she quickly replied, "Then why did you wear your tennis shoes?"..... as you see he raced after that.

We ended the night with glow balloons and Titanic on the T.V.
The last time we went and stayed at Freeport was 8 years ago.  Although all of our family was unable to go this time, we still had a wonderful time and wished they could have been there.
