Happy New Year!!

I know it is a few days behind, but I still wanted to share with you our wonderful New Years Eve and Day :)!!!

Kyles mom always does the most fabulous table decor :)!!!!  Don't you LOVE her NY one?  Love all the clocks!!

NYE Heidi, Amanda, and I had a girls morning and got manis and pedis & had lunch :)!!  It was so nice and relaxing.
For a 6 year old, she is so in the know LOL!  She was reading a people magazine they had there while she waited.
:)))) Got something different than flowers this time.  Loved the peace sign design.
We had planned to grill steaks NYE night and pop fireworks and all that jazz.  Of course the hubster was in the woods ALL DAY!!!!! So he had me under strict orders on exactly which to flip the steaks in the marinade and what else to put on them.

MeMe got home early, so the kiddos stayed with her while Amanda and I ran to the store to get a few more things.  It was such a nice day!  We seriously spent all day together!  I love best friends :)!!!

When we got back to the house we made this fabulous ice cream sandwich dessert.  I had to add a little decorative topping as we rang in the  new year.
We grilled, had a fire, roasted (or toasted HAHA) marshmellows, shot fireworks, and had lots of laughter.
 LOVEEEE this couple :)!!!!!
Best friends for life for sure...... we can go days without talking (even weeks before) & then just pick right up like we just talked yesterday.  I love that!  She definitely knows me inside and out!
One of the first things she teaches each of my kids is "peace out".... I can hardly wait for her to have a child so I can teach him and her all sorts of things.
Her smile to me just shows so much excitement.  She understood what exactly "Happy New Year" meant this year.

I know this is random, but MeMe made this most AWESOME salad for us to have with our steaks & I had to get a picture of it.
After supper was firework time :)!  Soph enjoyed it until it "burnt" her hand.  Then she stayed cuddled up to MeMe the rest of the time and gave orders to hold her ears.

Karter & Heidi both love sparklers.  I am a scardy cat I guess you can say.  Bottle rockets scare me now that I am a  mom.  I think it is more of the not knowing exactly where they will go part that scares me, so usually (USUALLY) we are safe with sparklers.

This is why I said usually LOL.... Karter would throw his sparkler over his shoulder or where ever once it went out.  Well one of the times he did it it landed in Amanda's hair.  I am laughing just thinking about it.  Of course her hair singed some.  She screamed, we screamed, and it scared Karter Man.  He felt so bad and just went and sat down.  I got a picture of Heidi comforting him and Amanda letting him know that she was okay.

I love this of me and Kman :).... we were watching the BIG firework show :)....

We did manage to stay up to watch the ball drop in NYC and then had to put a movie in to stay up until our midnight time :)!!!  So I would say that we had a great NYE and ended 2012 with a BANG!

We took it easy NYD and went against all New Year Rules and grilled hamburgers.  Kyle doesn't like the traditional NY food, so he wanted to grill and grilling is what took place.

Heidi of course still loves her KyKy to pieces.  She "texts" him and facetimes him all the time with her ipod.  He managed to get a snapshot of them talking on NYD and I HAD to have a copy of it :).

Okay and you know how I am about dates and times, etc.  I have to look at all expiration dates and some of them have meaning to me.  Well I happened to see this on the bottom of the sourcream container as I was making Crack Potatoes to go with our burgers...... my birthday :)!!
And Kman must have partied too much the night before.  He crashed pretty early that afternoon.  He doesn't usually take naps, but he conked out :)!
I hope you all had a wonderful New Years.  I am thankful to start this year out home with my kiddos.  Dream come true!
