What a life....

Mr Morgan Willis Colquett gave it up and went Home yesterday, August 23, 2010. What a legacy he has left behind. He had 3 kids, 4 grandkids, and 9 great-grandkids. He was so excited when we welcome Karter into this world. FINALLY he had someone to carry on the Colquett name :)!!! Karter has a lot of weight on his shoulders *hehe*!

Granddaddy Colquett found out 9 weeks ago that he had pancreatic and liver cancer. That most evil, life threatening disease did not take long to suck the life right out of him. Kyle made a good point yesterday when he found out of his passing...."He's not suffering anymore and what a joyous celebration between he and Mrs Colquett". Her birthday was actually the 21st of August.... so she got a very good birthday gift :).... can you just imagine the life they are living now? How glorious!

Kyle handles things a lot differently than most people. He's always been the type that when he's upset, angry, sad, etc... he does what he can to avoid the situation.... so when he found out he kept working... and actually worked an hour overtime. He said he didn't have to deal with anything at work. He was always close to his Grandaddy....anytime he needed a tractor picked up or money collected.....Kyle was almost always the one he called. There were so many times that he would call Kyle to do something & Kyle would usually have something going on...and I would say, "One day he's not going to be here for you to do this with" and he'd say "I know"... and always do it.

Once he found out his Granddaddy had the cancer he almost immediately told me that he wanted to speak at his funeral. This was something that he really wanted to do. He actually talked about it with his Granddad a few weeks ago and I think it actually made Mr Colquett feel proud... and I even remember the smile it brought Mr Colquett's face when he asked him. The funeral is at 3 Wednesday. Kyle worked on his speech over an hour today. He told me tonight that he had this feeling Sunday night that it was not going to be much longer for Mr Colquett....and he actually was looking up scriptures about death. I remembered him flipping through his Bible during church......and that's what it was about.

The picture below was taken the day we came home from the hospital, June 28th, 2010. We made a stop by his house so he could meet Sophie..... and I'm so thankful he got to meet her. This was 1 week after he found out he had cancer.
I can remember that she couldn't stay there long because he said she was too heavy.
HEAVEN HAS WELCOMED A BRAND NEW MAN BECAUSE THE OLD ONE IS GONE!
