Wow

By the picture above I'm sure you can guess who took it :)... she also took the next few pictures. They were taken one day last week while they were waiting on me to get home from work.

The title of this blog has a lot of meaning.... Wow.... is the only word I could come up with for today. Today we had a go go day. We had lunch at First Baptist at 11:00, had to be at the funeral home at 12:30 for the viewing at 1:00 and then the funeral was at 3:00.

It was a really nice funeral. The best part of course was Kyle's speech. It meant so much to him to get up there and do that. Before hand I asked him if he thought he would cry and he of course said No..... and I told him that it was okay to cry and he said he knew.... and sure enough once he got up there he couldn't hold it together. He did Fabulous..... and I really don't think there was a dry eye in the building during his speech. He loved his Grandaddy so much and he already misses him beyond measures. He was his buddy! He said in his speech that he had only seen his Grandaddy cry twice in his life... once was when he asked him if he could speak today and the other was when his Grandmother died. Today was only the second time I have seen Kyle cry.... the first was 9 years ago when we were in high school. Kyle is very private with his emotions... it really done him good to "let it out today". He said everything he needed to say and everything he wanted to say. It was definitely a speech that will not be forgotten..... one of those speeches that you wish was on video.

Anyway.... the next few pictures were taken during the viewing. Cindy, Jon Wesley, and Leigh Ann took the girls to the Dollar Store before hand and got them all sorts of things to keep them "occupied" during it.... and I mean they had a good time.

We took Karter and Sophie to the church to eat with us so that they could see some of the family members that had not seen them and then we took them to Kids World during the viewing and funeral. I really wanted to hear and concentrate on Kyle's speech.... and the chances of BOTH kids being "calm" during it was very slim.... PLUS Kyle was a pall bearer so he wasn't able to sit where we were anyway.

This picture was at Meme's after the funeral.
Kyle was working on my camera and snapped a few shots.... I really wished he had of taken the whole picture. Miley Grace was sitting with me holding Sophie and Sophie was really enjoying it.

Kyle and Karter
Heidi stayed at Meme's and went swimming and we left and went over to Mr Colquett's to hang out and get plants. Randy had a good time with Megan and Carrie Beth :)
HAHA.... we ended up with 4 plants... so we had those in the back of the car along with a stroller and a bike.... needless to say... the plants didn't have much room *hehe*!
*** These past few days have really flown by. It's so hard to believe that not even a week ago we were visiting Grandaddy and today we had his funeral. Like the preacher said today... death doesn't catch you by surprise, but the timing usually does. We all thought we had one more week with Mr Colquett. The nurse told the family Monday at 2 that we had about a week left with him..... by 4:15 he shown otherwise.... and that's okay.... he isn't suffering anymore.... we just selfishly wanted one more goodbye.
